The inaugural New England Spring Garden Trail, organised by the New England Garden Festival, will travel across the beautiful New England region in seven days, opening approx. 20 cold climate gardens to visitors. Each town will open their 3 gardens between 9am-2pm for one day only, with Walcha opening on Thursday 31st October, 2024 followed by Uralla the next day, 1 Nov, and then a weekend in Armidale 2 & 3 Nov for the New England Garden Festival. Guyra then shines on 4 Nov, followed by Glen Innes 5 Nov and finishing in Tenterfield 6 Nov.
Visitors are encouraged to stay in each town the night before to make most use of the gardens’ opening hours. When the gardens close, visitors can visit the locally recommended ‘hot spots’ from each town before moving on to the next town. Enthusiasts can visit any, or all of the towns and gardens on the trail – they can join in when it suits them! It will be every gardeners favourite pastime over 7 days in the glorious New England.
Individual garden tickets will be available through the NEGF Humanitix ticketing site. Signage will be provided by NEGF and promotion through their webpage and social media, and community clubs/towns are encouraged to promote the Garden Trail widely.
Garden owners & community groups can choose to add extras in their open gardens eg. music, morning/ lunch / afternoon tea, plant sales, etc.
Other than signage costs, money raised in each town stays in that town to support their chosen charity.
