Strauss Cottage

Nestled in the beautiful, historic Northern Tablelands town of Tenterfield, Strauss Cottage is a lovingly restored 1886 terrace house, offering boutique luxury accommodation to couples wanting to experience the grandeur of another era.

When its current owners discovered the cottage, it was broken and derelict. Over four years, they painstakingly restored it, paying attention to all the historic and beautiful imperfections this grand old building had accrued over its lifetime of 130 years.

The cottage has been tastefully decorated with love, incorporating objects and furnishings from all over the world. A home away from home, the cottage has subsequently been carefully curated with fine linens, sumptuous textures and interesting collections.

The goal was to bring it back to life, to be celebrated and enjoyed by those who take pleasure and wonder from staying in a place steeped in history. Historical elements have been blended seamlessly with modern comforts and amenity, to offer a luxurious accommodation experience in the heart of Tenterfield.
